Spirit is the Key Element
When it comes to "spirituality," there are truly not enough magical words in our modern day language to give it justice! To be spiritual... where does one begin? How is spirituality different, or the same as religion? And, what makes one spiritual?
Well, SPIRIT! Obviously, it's in the words "spiritual," and "spirituality." And this is by no means a small subject! Matter of fact, the list of metaphysical and esoteric subjects that can help you develop a sincere understanding of what your "spirit" is can be quite overwhelming! Here's a few of my favorite:
- Hermetic Philosophy
- Universal Qabalah & The Tree of Life
- The Tarot System of Ageless Wisdom
- The Seven Great Mystery Schools
- Shamanism & The Medicine Wheel
- Elemental Magic
- Esoteric Healing
And this is just a few! The available subjects to study and practice are unlimited, and ageless. I prefer knowledge prior to our modern age for it lacks any of the old school magic and more importantly, the accountability to even embark on such teachings!
The essence of spirit is divinely sacred, and to seek spiritually requires humility, and time, to best avoid the quicker version of ego. Yes, Spirit can be EGO! Crazy I know... but definitely so!
If you asked me to define it though... I would say it's undefinable and cloaked in mystery as it should be, because spirit is pure energy with no form, and words formulate things into something... so I tend to honor spirit's freedom and simply connect to it in any way that I possibly can!
To be spiritual requires an authentic connection to the divine, and your own divine essence. Call it Higher Self, Spirit, or give it a name! So the real question may be... how do you connect to it? That would be your SOUL!
It took me years to fully comprehend the essence of spirit, and the beauty of being spiritual. There is no one path that has all of the answers, it truly ends up being your path, so simply get started! My advice though, is that you resonate with what you learn, and that you have a connection with who you may learn from... and most importantly, that you always put your "I Am" in the equation! I appreciate guru's, but all it means is that they did their work, and to follow can lead you no where. So you're obviously ready... make sure you're willing to do the work, your work, and I promise you the rewards are endless and beyond this world! My big change happened in Alchemy... maybe yours too!
